Zadny Bridge

For front-wheel and all-wheel drive models there was a need for the new concept of the back bridge in connection with a big luggage compartment and the leaning-back back of a back seat. The uniform structure of a body formed a basis for development of both the besprivodny, and leading back bridge in models with the full drive.

For front-wheel models the back bridge with a suspension bracket of wheels on the longitudinal levers connected by a beam and strengthened on a body was chosen. Such design consists from two rigid on a bend and torsion of the longitudinal levers of tubular section connected among themselves rigid on a bend, but the P-shaped cross beam working for torsion. The additional stabilizer is located across the car at an angle to a beam of the bridge and is sharnirno attached to a body. Thereby high cross rigidity of the bridge and optimum course stability is reached.

Depreciation racks transfer vertical forces to a body. Springs are located as it is possible below not to conceal the volume of a luggage compartment.

Such constructive solution of the back bridge with a suspension bracket of wheels on the longitudinal levers connected by the beam strengthened on a body provides that at joint turn of an axis of levers of both wheels the bridge behaves as the bridge with a suspension bracket of wheels on longitudinal levers, and when twisting a beam – as the bridge with a suspension bracket of wheels on diagonal levers.

Zadny Bridge of the all-wheel drive Audi 80 models is supplied with the directing system of a suspension bracket of wheels with dual cross levers.

The directing system of a suspension bracket consists respectively of two triangular cross levers with the additional vertical lever. Shock-absorbers and springs are assembled in compact depreciation racks.

Position of the top cross levers over wheels helps to place the longitudinal levers located below in the coming-out wheel niches that in turn is the prerequisite for an optimum form of a luggage compartment. The reducer of the back bridge is attached by bolts to a stretcher which, in turn, is attached by bolts to a body by means of pillows.

On the front-wheel Audi 80 models there is a so-called back bridge with a suspension bracket of wheels on the longitudinal levers connected by a beam and strengthened on a body. Structurally the bridge consists of two tubular longitudinal levers which are connected by an elastic P-shaped profile.

Peredny Bridge

Known already forward bridge with a suspension bracket of wheels on depreciation racks was in the changed form is transferred with compartment Audi, and also from model predecessor. Additional application of elastic elements does of polyurethane possible convenient "proglatyvaniye" even big movement of a body.

The stabilizer of cross stability attached to both cross levers considerably reduces the list arising in turn and also "swallows" the blows received by a suspension bracket at arrival on roughness.

In comparison with the previous model the track of the forward bridge is expanded on 38 mm.

Audi quattro (all-wheel drive model) has absolutely other design of the back bridge. It is about the so-called bridge with dual cross levers. On an illustration the drive of back wheels is also visible.
