Drive of heating and ventilation

All functions of system of heating and ventilation of salon in the Audi 80 car can be operated from the block located on the dashboard.

Three so-called cables of Bowden pass to the air duct case which is often called by "an air duct box" from there. In this case the air valves directing an air stream in the necessary direction are located.

At the left: the rotary regulator (2) fans of salon is rigidly connected with the control unit and the drive of system of heating and ventilation (1). At malfunction it is necessary to replace all knot completely.

On the right: removal of a cable of Bowden at the block of the drive of system of heating and ventilation of salon: to pull out pincers a countersupport (1), to disconnect the end of a cable (2) from the lever (3).

Replacement of hummock drives

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Removal and installation are identical practically at all hummock drives.
  2. To remove a shelf at the left under the dashboard (section Salon).
  3. To remove radio.
  4. If necessary to remove a ware box.
  5. To remove all three handles of rotary switches of heating/ventilation.
  6. To weaken two screws with crosswise shliyets located below.
  7. To remove the panel.
  8. To turn out visible now four bolts with cross-shaped shliyets.
  9. Now it is possible to extend a little from the dashboard the control unit of heating and ventilation of salon, so, to reach fastenings of cables of Bowden.
  10. By means of a screw-driver to wring out a drive cable countersupport from a latch on the drive block.
  11. The end of a cable will be bent in the form of a loop and it is leaky inserted into the drive lever.
  12. On a box of an air duct of a cover of cables of Bowden are rigidly screwed on eyes or are recorded by plastic latches.
  13. To turn out screws or to squeeze latches and to remove clips.

Removal of ventilating grates

If for rotary directing air in the ventilating channel the leaf was hooked:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To hook a ventilating grate a screw-driver above and below and carefully to take out it.
  2. At installation to pay attention: the top rotary hinge is thicker.
