Regulator of brake forces

The regulator of brake forces (1) for the back bridge of front-wheel models is connected with the back bridge a spring (2) and the driving lever (3).

At the left: the 5-cylinder engine is supplied with the additional vacuum pump (2) which is in addition strengthening the lowered pressure in a hose from an inlet collector (1). Thus in a hose (4) in front of the pump to the amplifier (5) enough force for operation of brakes is provided. In order that discharge was not lost, before branch to the pump the backpressure valve (3) is installed.

On the right: here the vacuum pump is shown once again at a short distance. Figures correspond to the left illustration.

At front-wheel Audi 80 versions the regulator of brake forces is located at the left arm of the bearing on the course before the back bridge on the right. It can reduce liquid pressure in back wheel cylinders.

It occurs depending on loading: at completely loaded car the back part of a body falls at small loading if in the car one sit or two person, the deflection of back springs is small. Because of the excessive pressure upon back wheels they are prematurely blocked, and the car when braking can develop across.

The regulator of brake forces receives through the spring connected with the back bridge, information on a condition of loading of the car – depending on that, the back bridge how low fell.

Check of the regulator of brake forces

For fast check of action you will need the assistant. The car should not be raised a jack.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Sharply squeeze out up to the end a pedal of a brake and quickly take away a foot.
  2. Thus the lever of the regulator of brake forces has to move.

Regulator of brake forces of all-wheel drive models

At the all-wheel drive Audi 80 models the regulator of brake forces is located ahead near the ABS block in a motor compartment. It simpler design. Blocking of back wheels prevents this regulator that it does not allow the brake pressure of the back bridge to enter a dangerous zone at all.
