Check of a side play of the bearing of a nave of a wheel

Forward wheels move on two-row ball-bearings. Behind on front-wheel models radial-stop conic roller bearings are installed. On all-wheel drive cars behind there are same ball-bearings, as well as in front. They are established on jellied greasing and usually 100 000 km serve much more long. Defective bearings attract attention noise at the movement. If noise becomes louder, for example on the right turns the left bearing of a nave of a wheel is, so faulty.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Try to turn one behind another the wheels which are firmly standing on the earth concerning their vertical axis.
  2. At serviceable bearings there should be almost no side play.
  3. If the side play is notable, ask the assistant to press strongly a pedal of a brake and once again shake a wheel: if any more a side play, so the reason only in the bearing is not felt.
  4. If still there is a side play: it is necessary to check a wheel suspension bracket.
  5. Now it is necessary to lift the car and to turn a wheel: if it moves hard or breakthroughs, so the bearing is installed too hardly. If you distinctly hear a gnash, it is necessary to replace the bearing.

Help: back bearings of naves of wheels of front-wheel models can be adjusted. Back bearings of all-wheel drive models, and also bearings of all forward wheels are not adjusted.
